Global keyboard shortcut signal

Trigger a Core automation from a registered Windows shortcut.

The Keyboard shortcut pressed signal registers a project shortcut in Core. It works while the Editor is closed and follows normal automation concurrency and cooldown rules.

Configure and test

Select Hotkey Pressed, record the intended combination, then use File → Save (Ctrl+S) to apply the automation. Inspect its registration status. Another application can already own that shortcut; change the binding or release the conflicting registration.

Recording temporarily releases Core's relevant global registrations and reacquires them after capture. Holding a key does not repeatedly trigger the signal.

Pause and update maintenance suppress admission. Editor interface hotkeys remain a separate local preference.

Use Test Data for the event-handling logic, then verify the actual shortcut separately in a controlled environment.

Select Change to start recording; Esc cancels. This disabled demonstration automation shows the recorder before assignment. It does not demonstrate successful registration or a conflict.
