Provide a deliberate stop action and optional persistent speech toggle.

Before you start

Use a test project connected to Core. Configure the relevant integrations in the intended local service profile. Review Apply and Save before testing a changed definition.

Steps

  1. Connect the Stream Deck companion/bridge and configure Piper.
  2. Assign a controlled Stream Deck button signal to a new automation.
  3. Add the supported Piper stop action, save the automation, and Test while a long demonstration sentence is speaking.
  4. For a persistent mute switch, create a Boolean project variable and use a separate button automation to change its current value.
  5. Guard each relevant Piper Speak step with that variable, then save the sequence and test both states.

Verify

The stop action interrupts current speech, while the separate gate controls later speech requests. Inspect the corresponding run, then Save the applied project when the result is correct.

If it does not work

Stopping current playback alone does not disable future donation TTS. Check that every intended Speak action uses the gate.
