Choose how execution responds to a failing action.

Before you start

Use a test project connected to Core. Review Apply and Save before testing a changed definition.

Steps

  1. Select an action with a controlled failure case in a test project.
  2. Inspect its common settings and choose the intended On Error policy.
  3. Set a reasonable Timeout for an operation that can wait.
  4. Add a later Log action, save the sequence, and Test the successful and failing cases.
  5. Inspect whether execution continued or stopped and whether downstream values were available.

Verify

The sequence follows the selected error policy rather than relying on an assumed default. Inspect the corresponding run, then Save the applied project when the result is correct.

If it does not work

Cancellation or timeout does not guarantee an external effect was reversed. See Error policies.
