Recover a project

Copy the project and its sidecar before attempting recovery. Core can remain available without a project when remembered-project restoration fails.

Check the cause

Confirm that the path exists and no other owner holds the project. Review required plugins, compatibility, signatures and trust decisions. Inspect safe diagnostics for backup recovery or a malformed component.

Open a known backup through the supported project workflow. If only selected components are usable, import them into a separate test project and inspect the result before saving.

Keep external files and the matching .shubdata directory when you need statistics or run history. A .shubproj alone is not a complete history backup.

Do not edit protected project envelopes or delete runtime locks to force an open. Include a minimal sanitized example in a bug report.
