Start with a .NET 8 class library and the public Plugin Abstractions package. The repository's Examples/Plugins/StreamingHub.Plugin.Example provides a complete project structure.

Build and package

  1. Enable dynamic loading and include runtime dependencies in the library output.
  2. Implement the public lifecycle/metadata contracts and a useful contribution such as an action or signal.
  3. Place plugin.json beside the entry assembly. Match its plugin ID and public parameterless entry type.
  4. Build the complete package, including resources and dependencies.
  5. Sign the finished package with your author key and verify it before copying it into a test installation's Plugins folder.
  6. Restart or refresh discovery through the supported manager, then review the candidate in Publishers & Trust.
  7. Verify catalog visibility, controlled execution and clean shutdown.

Current Core blocks unsigned/invalid plugin packages. A community signature needs the user's exact-package or publisher-key consent and does not make the plugin official.
