Define actions

Expose stable action IDs, schemas and cancellable execution.

An action provider declares the sequence steps its plugin can execute. Use stable IDs and describe fields, outputs and behavior precisely.

Return action descriptors through IActionProvider. Declare typed parameters and supported reference/option providers; Core projects them to clients without sending executable plugin objects.

During execution, read values through the public context/helpers, honor cancellation and write only the declared output contract. Treat a missing external resource as an explicit failure rather than choosing a different target silently.

Distinguish schema validation from live external availability. Protect credentials in logging and error messages. A timeout or cancellation does not promise that an external effect was undone.

See Schema UI, Settings and Testing.
