Capabilities

• Receive supported live chat messages and related events.
• Run supported YouTube chat and moderation actions.
• Expose author, message and reply data to automations when supplied by YouTube.

Integration signals can start automations. Integration actions are added as steps.

Requirements

• A Google account with access to the YouTube channel.
• An active or available live broadcast and live chat where required.
• Authorization for the requested YouTube operations.

Connect

1. Open Services → YouTube, or double-click YouTube in the status bar.
2. Select the Google authorization button and sign in with the account that owns or manages the channel.
3. Approve the requested YouTube permissions.
4. Return to Streaming Hub, verify the selected channel, and save the settings.
5. Start or select a live broadcast with chat enabled, then test a YouTube chat signal or action.

Verify the connection

The YouTube service status is connected and the integration can resolve the active live-chat context without an authorization error.

Limitations

Signals that depend on live chat require a suitable broadcast. API quotas, channel permissions and chat availability are controlled by YouTube.

The application is not yet verified by Google, so the shared Streaming Hub API project currently has a daily limit on YouTube requests. This restriction should be removed after Google approves the application, and the documentation will be updated when that happens.

If you reach the current limit, create your own Google API credentials and enter them in YouTube Advanced Settings. Your project then uses its own quota instead of the shared application quota.

Troubleshooting

Check the service status and filter the Log panel by the integration source. Reopen the integration settings to verify credentials, address and required external-service permissions.
