When to use a project

Use a separate project for each independent automation setup or environment that must be saved, transferred or backed up as one unit.

Stored content

A project can contain automations, macros, variables, plugin project settings, required-plugin information and selected interface state. The exact components depend on the save profile and installed plugins.

Save and autosave

Save writes the current project to its existing location. Save As writes it to a new location. Autosave runs at the configured interval and may be skipped while another save is active.

If protected project secrets require a password that is not available, autosave may be skipped.

Import and export

Import and export can include selected project components. Review the component selection and plugin requirements before applying imported content to an existing project.

Project and local settings

Project settings travel with the project when included. Local settings remain on the current computer. A plugin may provide both scopes.

Limitations

Project format and migration behavior may change during Public Alpha. Keep a separate backup before opening an important project in a newer version.
